Getting to know me

Hey, I’m Ryan, (Yes, that funny looking guy on the right…)

I’m from Alberta, Canada (I know eh!) and I think I’m very lucky…

I am the husband to a beautiful wife (Jen) and the companion of an amazing dog (Kola).  I have a loving family, awesome friends, and excellent health.

My Goals

My goal with investing is for early financial freedom.  This will allow me to spend an abundant amount of time with Jen and Kola (and eventually our kids).  I also want to help finance my parents retirement, because they deserve it!

This is what drives me.  This is why I continue to push myself to keep learning and why I set lofty goals.

Remember: ‘Whether you think you can, or think you can’t, you’re right’.

~Henry Ford~

So set those lofty goals, and more importantly, BELIEVE you can achieve them. I’ll do what I can to help you along the way.

My Story

After University, I searched, and searched for a job within my field (Kinesiology), and came up empty.

After months of interviews, even a surprise one, as what they claimed to be an ‘environmental awareness coordinator’ (more on that later). I ended up being accepted into an entry level job as a City Laborer.

I wouldn’t realize it then, but this job would change my life forever.

With this job, I was able to use headphones, and after I’d listened to all my music… several times…. I moved on to audio-books. Soon I found myself reading, and listening to investment books.  I read dozens and listened to even more. And the rest, as they say, is history.

Where I started

The first Investment book I read was Phil Towns Rule #1 Investing, I listened to the audio-book first then bought the hard copy.  After that, I was hooked!

Once I decided that I wanted to take investing seriously I made the choice to invest in myself, through education.

I started to read and study exactly what investing was, and how the best people in the world were doing it.  I read as many investment books as I could get my hands on and listened to countless podcasts and audio-books.

Next I took the biggest and most rewarding step and enrolled in some value investing and options training courses, went to seminars, and dove head first into investing, and it was a blast.  I continue to learn as much as I can, and now I’m hoping to pass on what I’ve learned to help others.

What is Next Level Investing?

Next Level investing is all about taking the right steps in order to substantially increase your investment returns over time.

These small increases though up front may seem small, can have a huge effect over time. I want to help you utilize the power of compounding by teaching you different ways to increase your investment returns.

My goal is to help you increase your returns by at least 3% per year.  This will help you retire sooner, or at least more comfortably.  3% doesn’t sound like a large number, but we have to start somewhere! and over time it has a big impact.

My Pledge to You

I will do whatever I can to help take your investing to that ‘Next Level’.  To me this ‘Next Level’ includes simple ‘Value Investing Options’ which include; charting techniques and stock valuation.

I will help you reduce your mistakes by telling you about the mistakes I’ve made in the past and helping you learn from them.

I will help keep you motivated, and keep you moving forward by being that kick in the butt we all need from time to time.

I will continue to learn about investing.  Everything new that I learn, I will teach to you, through the blog and by email, so make sure you subscribe!

Thanks and all the best in your investing future.

~Ryan~

Well, I do look pretty young in this one.  But I think I’m pulling off the outfit pretty well…
